Church Reopening and Liturgical Guidelines Effective Sunday, July 4, 2021
For the past 15 months, the Coronavirus pandemic has put a lot of restrictions on our daily lives and the liturgy in general.
On June 15th, in accordance with the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, our church will be able to reopen.
However, we are still cautious about Masses and other gatherings where many people gather. Putting each other’s safety first, we have prepared the following guidelines for a gradual reopening.

Reopening Update from Fr. Augustine
Dear brothers and sisters of St. Gregory Nazianzen Church,
I would like to send my warmest greetings to all of you. Our parish will begin the process of reopening in mid-July. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, however, some restrictions will remain in place and our reopening will happen slowly over time.
It’s important to remember that Archbishop José Gómez has extended the dispensation from our Sunday Mass obligation until further notice.

Reopening in July
Due to the uncertainty of the situation with COVID-19, our parish has elected to delay the opening of our parish until the middle of July. We ask for your patience during this time.
Upon opening, our Mass schedule during July will look as follows:
9:00 AM – Korean 11:00 AM – English 1:00 PM – Spanish Once again, we would like to remind you all that Archbishop Gomez has dispensed all Catholics from the obligation of Sunday Mass until further notice.

Preparation for Reopening
My dear brothers and sisters of St. Gregory Nazianzen,
I hope that this letter finds you and your family well. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it would be an understatement to say that these past few months have been difficult for all of us. Despite this, I would like to share some good news with you now.
According to Archbishop José Gomez, the earliest that parishes can begin Masses is June 3.

Dear Brothers and Sisters of St. Gregory Nazianzen Church,
For the past few months, we have experienced a lot of fear and anxiety due to this Coronavirus. Along with that, there is a lot of uncertainty as to what will happen next. No matter what happens tomorrow this fact is certain – Jesus Christ rose from the dead and sits at the right hand of God the Father. As Catholics, we will also get to share in the promise of Jesus’ resurrection someday.

Archdiocese announces suspension of masses amid COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles announced this afternoon the suspension of Masses amid the current health threat due to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

Catholic are encouraged to continue to pray at home with their families and join to the sacrifice of the Mass by making an act of spiritual communion. They are also encouraged to participate in the Holy Mass via the Internet.
